"Our vision is to build a pro league that expresses creativity & innovation, one that the community at large can resonate with and feel inspired by. 2024 is just the beginning—please keep an eye out for news on our latest developments over the coming years."
The Japan Pro Surfing Association (JPSA) is the governing body for professional surfing in Japan and the organizer of the national professional surf championship tour. Founded in 1981, the association launched their inaugural tournament the following year. Since then the
JAPAN PRO SURFING TOUR has been run in Short Board, Long Board and Senior Pro divisions for more than 4 decades. 2024 will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the tour with the establishment of S.League.
Adopting a fresh approach to the world of competitive surfing, S.League aims to produce tournaments that leverage both the waves and culture that are on offer at each location. With Japan's beautiful coastline setting the stage for our events, we will harness the variety of wave conditions of the four seasons to provide contestants with a series of exhilarating
competition experiences, while also incorporating local culture & traditions into our events, with an aim to contribute to regional economies.
The unity & growth of the surfing community, as well as the concern for maintaining a sustainable ocean environment, form the cornerstone of S.League's founding principles.
From surfers & spectators, to regional communities,
all are invited to share in our great anticipation & excitement
as we embark on this new adventure.
